As Official Wireless Provider of the Oklahoma City Thunder, U.S. Cellular was looking for a way to connect with enthusiastic Thunder fans at Chesapeake Arena.
Not only did the brand want to show off new devices and technology, they wanted to create an engaging event space that would keep fans coming back for more.
That's where my team came in.
Using Thunder star Victor Oladipo as our team's inspiration, I helped concept a virtual reality experience that gave fans a chance to watch him dunk like never before.
The idea was brought to life by filming a series of 360-degree dunks, each capturing Victor in the most epically awesome way possible.
When it all came together, VR participants could choose from three dunk options — and one bonus dunk exclusive to U.S. Cellular customers — to experience what it’s like to be right on the court with Victor.
To encourage VR participation, I crafted call-to-action messaging that was placed on a digital U.S. Cellular screen (or more commonly known as "the giant phone" replica).
With promotional footage of Victor and bold messaging, Thunder fans were immediately hooked and eager to try the experience.
